The Watertribe (and Mary) Visit Disneyland

For all the non-Chinese out there: no, Yang does not mean water (shui is water). I forsee a Chinese language lesson in one of my future posts.

So where did the name "Watertribe" come from? Mary's theory is it's some type of science-fiction / fantasy thing, but you'll have to ask them to find out.

It's nice the Watertribe lives in Las Vegas because it's close enough for them to drive down to visit. We probably get a chance to see each other at least a couple times a year, although i'm sure everybody wouldn't mind if the frequency of visits were even greater. Too bad i'm all Vegased-out from all those times we used to go when we were at school in Provo. I think the last time we went to visit the Watertribe, we never even visited the strip. We only drove past it to get to Chinatown so we could get some Chinese food!

I think we're very lucky because Logan is a very well-behaved boy. We joke around at work, saying the most effective contraceptive is watching some of the children who visit Disneyland. If you've seen the parents who lead their children around on leashes, then you know exactly what i'm talking about. Oh, and the ones who throw tantrums are fun to watch too. Especially when they throw their little bodies onto the ground and writh around, screaming at the top of their lungs. Anyone ever wonder why there isn't federally mandated parental training? If you think i'm crazy for even suggesting this and profess procreation is a God-given right, then maybe this example will put things in perspective: to drive a motor vehicle we have to pass a physical, take a written exam, practice with a learner's permit, and finally, take a practical exam. So, what's a more important skill: driving a car or raising a kid?

Like i said, good thing the Monkey's a good boy. Although we do have to watch out for his tattoo fetish. My gosh, look at the boy! I wonder if anyone has done a study to see if there's a direct relation between the childhood use of these acrylic copolymer temporary tattoos and the frequency of tattoos in adulthood. If there is, then we better watch out because Logan will end up practicing Irezumi!

Hopefully he'll be a better big-brother than i was to Brian. My childhood memories are filled with epic battles (one includes me lighting a firecracker in his face and burning his cheek). And my wrath wasn't just directed towards him. I distinctly remember puting a lawn dart into Mary's back too. But i'm sure none of you want to hear all of those fun stories! The point is, Logan will have a little brother or sister very soon (maybe both). Check out the Watertribe's blog for updates!

It's Brian! And a little Brian!

4 reasons. Didn't want our real names in the handle or something that Brian already used for himself; we needed something for the family, hence tribe. It is dry in Vegas and we are glad when it rains, that and Brian and Logan are like fish. Last of all "Avatar: The Last Airbender" on Nick is a pretty well-put-together cartoon although we don't follow it regularly.
