Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest set a new record for the highest opening in box office history taking in an estimated $135 million dollars in its first three days of release across the US. The film was the first in box office history to pass the $100 million mark in only two days. Friday's opening gross ($55.5 million) is the highest single-day gross in box office history. Pirates is the 51st film in Buena Vista history to pass the $100 million mark, the most of any studio.
Finally. Something to overthrow Spiderman 2 and Shrek 2. Yes, you should be in disbelief that those two movies held some of the records just broken by Dead Man's Chest.
Here's the sad part---i still haven't seen it. And i think finding someone who hasn't seen it either to watch it with me will be next to impossible. Yes, i am wallowing in my self-pity; feel badly for me.
