Santiago Fire

We interrupt our regularly scheduled blogging for this emergency posting. Mayan Riviera adventures will resume shortly.

I took this picture of the Santiago Fire less than an hour ago. You can clearly see the ferris wheel at the Irvine Spectrum at the bottom right.

Here's a map of where the fire, which is moving in a southeast direction, has burned since Sunday night. For those of you who are familiar with the area, you know i am a safe distance away. The fire would have to burn through all of Foothill Ranch and the old El Toro Marine Base, jump Interstate 5, burn through a good portion of Irvine---including the Irvine Spectrum, and then jump Interstate 405 before finally reaching my house (located at the little green arrow).

And now you all know where i live...

Although my home and i may be safe, apparently my health is still in danger. Thanks to Houb for sending me this link regarding hazardous air quality because of the fires and winds.

Thank you to all those who contacted me (or attempted to contact me) regarding my well-being. Your concern is very much appreciated.

And for those who didn't bother to check up on me, thank you for having faith in my unwavering belief to always be prepared. If my neighborhood did catch on fire, i guarantee you my place would be the last one standing.

Seth, actually, from the size of that fire on the map, it looks pretty close to you! Are you sure you aren't in danger? You still have a ticket to Utah, right? You owe us a trip. Wanna come over? :)

Yes, of all people, we do have faith that not only would you survive, but that you would be out there helping to save others. You go, boy scout!
